Bio Rubato, acciaccatura, sonata, vivacissimo, pensieroso. These are all terms of expression that are a part of my vocabulary from studying classical piano since the age of 7 through college, and present. These terms I translate to my works of art through many interpretations in the media I use for each piece. I reflect my most current state of mind, and value all of my past - which I bring forward into my work. Introspection, observation, reaction, explanation. These are what motivate me to create each piece I make. I keep one foot in the most present, while keeping the other firmly in my past. I move through life with a keen since of interest. Searching those things that awaken me, move me forward, hold me back. The things that make me unique and are unique to me - that's what I tell in the art work I create. The piano is one of the media I use. I also use many others - photography, painting, mixed media sculpture, digital. I put no restraints to the tools I use in creating art. Oils, acrylic, watercolor, paper, cosmetics, discarded items, nostalgia, and so on. The materials help define the outcome of the work while shaping the expression of the idea. It's important to keep the eye moving and the mind wondering through the use of different textures, color, shapes, and forms. In this wondering is where the questions come, and where answers are not necessary. Even forbidden. I have a private studio where I exhibit my work, and sometimes other artists. I am also a collector - with over 50 pieces in my current collection.
