About The Artwork

I like to experiment when creating art and in this mixed media/collage painting on canvas, I poured a series of background colors first. When I looked at the outcome, I saw a seascape. My other piece, "In the Galapagos", done at the same time, was also reminded me of an underwater scene. This time I added a scuba diver seen in the upper left corner, who appears to be looking down at some colourful fish. I felt serenity and wonder after completing this piece and hope you will feel the same. When pouring acrylic paint on canvas you lose control and that's the idea. The creative process begins once I see the result of the pour on canvas. I love to embellish my pours with all kinds of imaginative images. I collect all kinds of bits and pieces of things that can be used for collage and using a background of acrylic pouring is great fun. I hope you liked the end result in this piece.
