FANGUERA, whose real name is Guèdègo Raymond FANDEGLA, is a painter born in 1990 in Benin, West Africa. Since childhood, FANGUERA has been interested in color and drawing. He often wonders about the environment. He often wonders about the environment, humanity, everyday life, love and peace in the world. His home country, BENIN, has a wonderful culture and traditions, as well as enormous potential, all of which stimulate his passion for artistic creation. He comes from a large family of artists. He has won several national art competitions and holds a Beninese baccalaureate. FANGUERA paints with his finger, brush or knife, depending on his inspiration, on a variety of media, preferably canvas. He draws his inspiration mainly from the realities of everyday life and the supernatural world, expressing himself mainly on canvas with oils, acrylics, coffee, natural pigments and collages using palm twigs. What's special about his work is that it doesn't fit into any category. He dabbles in everything, always striving for excellence. Whether painting, collage, landscape, abstract or figurative, his talent is both beautiful and marvellous..., FANGUERA has worked on several occasions with other visual artists from his country and abroad on performances and techniques. He is currently evolving his painting technique through his own style called AVIAKPO, which was unveiled in the last quarter of 2023 at the OrignArt gallery in Fidjrossè, Cotonou on the Route des Pèches, just outside Cotonou's Aéreport International before the HOTEL Céline. Aviakpo is a slogan in the Adja language. This is the second most dominant sociolinguistic group in Benin. The Adja are mainly found in the south of the country, more specifically in the Mono and Couffo departments, and in the Moyen-Mono in Togo, West Africa. Thus, the slogan aviakpo in Adja demonstrates the character of that which is fantastic, impressive, extraordinary. In general, when an Adja qualifies an object with the expression aviakpo, there's nothing left to complain about. This is the origin of my AVIAKPO style of art painting, which unfolds in three stages between realism and impressionism, and is characterized by a set of techniques such as collage of collected objects, using wood powders, colors and natural pigments, whose design or message is necessarily translated by brushes, hands and knives on canvas.
