The paper is cut without measuring. Rulers are neglected, scissors are preferred to cutters and cutting mats. The lines are never quite parallel, the edges are askew, the angles are uncertain. Circles are traced from nearby cups and glasses.  The first colourful piece of paper always lands on the lower edge of the canvas. Leftovers are actively participating. It often starts from scraps. Pieces are shuffled, rotated, and juxtaposed. The main pursuit is figure. Figure assembled out of loose fragments. It constitutes a façade each time. Paper collages become an endless exercise in frontal elevations.  Some are fragile and unstable. Many are cute. A few resemble cats or giraffes. Yet, basic elements of architecture are at play here—columns, slabs, doors, oversized windows, shutters, lintels, complex silhouettes, off-centred chimneys. Exaggeration is favoured. Symmetries are broken. Stripes and dots persistently occupy uneven surfaces.  Its vocabulary is set, its themes repeat. Gradually, it constitutes a peculiar language. Perhaps it becomes a form of practicing architecture that remains bi-dimensional but open. It continues to question, experiment, and navigate within its own awkward universe of faces, characters, whimsical façades, and possible buildings.
