About The Artwork

About the series “Februllage” is an online challenge organised during February 2019 from the Scandinavian Collage Museum and Edinburgh Collage Collective. The project was to create every day of the month a piece following up a specific daily topic, using your personal collage technique. I wanted to give to this challenge a go, mixing up my classic style of altering vintage pictures with some paper interventions. About the artwork The daily topic of the challenge was “Banana”, my collage is called “Going Bananas”. Medium Vintage photo, paper, pens and washi tape on paper.

Naomi Vona (Desio 1982), is an Italian artist based in London. The artist defines herself as an "archival parasite, with no bad intentions". Her works combines different interests like photography, collages and illustration. Her research is focused on altering vintage and contemporary found images, creating a new interpretation of the original shots. Using pens, paper, washi tape and stickers she gives to every image a new life. Every work is basically composed of three elements: her life background, her inspirations and subconscious, that is also the glue that puts all together. Email: mariko.koda[at]gmail[dot]com
