I am half Minnesotan and half Australian. Since moving back to my Minnesotan roots over four years ago, I’ve come to realise how proud Minnesotans are of their culture, heritage, landmarks and their way of life, all enjoyed in the four seasons that define this unique state. Minnesota is indeed a hidden gem, and one place that I am proud to call my home. It is culturally and naturally rich and diverse; from the famous people it has produced, to the Boundary Waters, Ski resorts, lakes and the beautiful loons and wild life. This work celebrates all that is Minnesotan. Within the symbolic figure of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, you’ll find images of Minnesotan landmarks, sporting teams, personalities and lifestyles. I love the rich folklore surrounding Paul Bunyan - from his superhuman labours to tales of his giant footsteps that created the 10,000 lakes he evokes the spirit of the early settlers who were robust, intrepid and incredibly resilient.
