ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Prints from the mixed media collage of Inky, a Sprocker Spaniel and created in a Pop Art style. The original collage was made up of various found and other materials, laid on a cartridge paper base. This included tissue paper, acrylic paint, pen, other papers eg origami, comic book, fur, magazine etc, packaging, maps. The collage technique gives a textured surface. Discretely signed "C J Clark". The work is contemporary and gives a sense of quirkiness and fun. The print is unframed. Original Collage has been sold.

CJ Clark worked in Computing and IT for a number of years before starting on a second career in the arts after taking voluntary retirement in 2019. She is currently studying at West Dean College for Arts and Conservation near Chichester, UK. She was born in the UK and lives on the South Coast of England, near to Southampton with her husband and two dogs. Her artistic influences are diverse, and currently include Van Gogh, Post-Impressionism, Pop Art and contemporary collage artists. CJ enjoys working with found, recyclable and natural materials. She does endeavour to keep her practice as mindful of the environment as possible. Her favourite mediums include paper and mixed media collage, paint, charcoal and ink. A lot of her recent output has involved collaging and mixed media techniques, exploring non-human, animal themes. She has a deep love for nature and animals, and consequently, she explores the unique characters and personalities of the animals she meets.
