For several years i’ve collected some plastic and carton wrappings from all kinds of japanese products based in my aesthetic tastes to create a series of collages that show the fun, colourful, kitschy and baroque everyday disposable japanese packaging graphic design is, accentuating my choices in their unique way in using typographies and compositions, but also with this series i want to add my voice to the millions of those concerned with the problem of plastic use and abuse, sea pollution, plastic incineration and the release of toxins by it, landfilling and other not too environmentally nice ways to approach such issues, we need to demand governments to push the most polluting corporations to develope more ecological materials for packaging and other uses, so that we could prevent issues like marine debris and plastic microbeading, and also teach people the benefits of re-use and recycle when possible, all to make our carbon footprint less harmful for our planet.

Arturo V. Hernández is a mexican visual and sound artist that has tried in several aesthetical languages to explain the complexities of his inner self through and his surroundings, with the use of techniques such as drawing, painting, musical composition, art object, photography and even designer toy object, he embarks in explorations that range from the automatic to the experimental, from the gesture of the subconscious to minimalistic or baroque ephemeral compositions, many of his works share the obsession of trying to grasp the elusive concept of “now-ness”, developing a method of mind-blank automatist body gestures he tries to translate this to different kinds of media, his “automatic faunaes” are some sort of autobiographical gestural drawings that have been developed through several years of work influenced mainly by abstract expressionism, tribal art alongside with arab & japanese calligraphic art and even urban art, they have been developed in traditional paper, mural and electronic media. in his latest work he engages in different kinds of visual experimentation using light painting photography techniques to create visual metaphors of the spiritual auras and energies that surround the human beings and the common places they inhabit, exploring ambidexterity, bimanual interference and symmetry as a conceptual search of balance in life.
