"Planetarias" is one of the first collages I made inspired by the space. It portraits a group of young women having fun together, eating an ice-cream hanging from a planet. There is a poem beneath them about an abstract explosion. This collage together with "Space girls" inspired a new collages series called "Planetary Girls / Women are leaving". After the series Subject Women, the idea that women had enough dealing with inequalities and society's requirements and stereotypes kept coming up to me. A person doesn't stay where it's not wanted, so women just would leave. This is why I portrait women in the space, mixed with stars and planets, standing as figures with a goddess aspect. Since women in fashion magazines are usually portrait as secondary characters whose physical appearance seems to be the most highlighted feature of them, I enjoy using their images in my collage empowering their figures, as main characters and complex and independent beings.
