Mixed media: acrylic, collage, paper on canvas This mixed media piece is a visual allegory of the resilience of the true values and morals in times of suppression of free speech, well cultivated in the communism period, represented here by an original communist paper from 1982. The same as a cactus, known to be one of the most resistant plants and able to develop and evolve in the harshest environments, the collective mentality succeeded under the communism to survive and evolve towards other ways of expression: music, poetry, painting, arts in general. Through these artistic expressions, many of our traditional values were kept alive and remained unaltered by the censorship of the communist regime. Additional info: This painting is created on canvas stretched on wood bars; the back of the painting looks like the last photo uploaded in the image gallery. The painting is unframed and has unfinished edges. Hanging / installation hardware is not included. On the back, the painting will have a sticker that will include the author’s logo, the title of the painting and the date of completion (month | year). A signed Certificate of Authenticity will be included. The painting is signed on front and on the back. The colors may look a little bit different depending on your screen color/ luminosity /contrast settings.
