ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have been working alot with old dress patterns and tissue paper to collage with. I apply them to the piece with matte medium which allows me to build it up in layers. I also like the random selection of words and graphics that happen as I apply the pattern pieces. These inform the shapes that take place. In this case the dresses took on a life of their own. Iniitially they were each seperate but then I used the pages from an old atlas to connect them, hence the country between us.
