ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I did a series of paintings while there was a large fire in the town of Paradise in California. Avoiding the smoke, I stayed in an house near the beach. There I collected some material and incorporated in my art. It is a dark moment with hope.

Ayelet had been interested in art since her teens, when she started drawing and painting as a hobby. Her other passion and occupation were as a scientist and an engineer in the silicon industry. In the last fifteen years Ayelet dedicated her time to art, painting and taking classes and workshops in local colleges and art centers, splitting her time between studying different techniques and working on her art, figure drawings, oil painting and print making. During 2017, Ayelet went through a shoulder surgery and again in 2018, and the experience had a profound impact on her art. A long recovery process inspired her to start painting with her left hand, which changed her style as well as helped her explore other mediums such as painting with acrylic and working with mixed media to incorporate textures into paintings. Ayelet believes that while obstacles may close some doors, overcoming them opens other doors and can be an enriching and rewarding experience. In recent works Ayelet used fabric as part of her paintings. She enjoys the process of painting with the fabric and incorporating it as a sculpture into the painting. Her subject can be described as the “Fabric of Life”, examining the connection between humans and their meaning in the world. Ayelet participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including winning the prestigious best of show at San Ramon wind and art festival
