ABOUT THE ARTWORK
One of a number of collages produced in the late 1990s. This one was inspired by my first trip to Asia probably about Summer 1995. In the grounds of Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei there was a pond and in the pond turtles. I hadn't seen such a thing before, nor experienced such heat and humidity.

I was a painter to begin. I started doing computer art in the late 70s, programmed at first but then evolving into a couple of strands of practice. Today the painting and the computer work interact sometimes, because of digital media I also retrieve and revisit old work when it merits it. Art theorists and historians tend to demand a kind of monotony in creatives' work, I lost interest in that kind of thesis a long time ago so I have fun and do what interests me, hence the range of styles and approaches.
