When it comes to art training, he says he was 'home-schooled'. He grew up surrounded by art supplies. There was always paper. There were pens, charcoal, burnishers, and brushes. There were drafting tools. In the basement there was a small, but well-equipped machine shop. Working with his hands came naturally. He became a graphic artist to earn money being creative. First free-lance, then he landed a job laying out high-end magazines. He has been an art director and production manager working with emerging production technologies. He played a key role in transitioning the US Postal Service into the digital production of stamps. He went on to become a software development manager building asset management systems for some of the biggest brands in the world. He has been on a techno-creative journey. Today most of his work begins on his Samsung Galaxy Ultra phone. He creates art with the S Pen and an app that allows him to work in vectors. He says working in vectors is key. The work is scalable and customizable. Once it is on his computer it may get enhanced or modified. Then it is configured for optimal output in print or prepared to be displayed digitally in its full RGB gamut.
