As the artist behind this piece, I aimed to capture the sense of wonder and awe that comes with space exploration. The collage of images features astronauts from different eras, including Michael Collins, Neil Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin, all unified by a vibrant yellow background. The orange and white space suits add pops of color, as if the astronauts are getting ready to board a rocket and blast off into the unknown. The use of abstraction in this digital canvas allows viewers to connect with the artwork in their own way, drawing on their own experiences and perspectives. I hope that this piece inspires viewers to contemplate the mysteries of the universe and our place within it. I chose to work in a digital medium to explore the possibilities of layering and collage, while also incorporating the clean lines and bold colours of modern design. The subject matter of space exploration has always fascinated me, and I believe that the abstract style lends itself well to capturing the awe-inspiring nature of this topic.
