ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece was inspired by one of my favorite book series, the Bridge Trilogy by William Gibson. Parts of the books take place in an interstitial community, essentially a shanty town, built amongst the wreckage of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge after a devestating earthquake, It depicts a figure in a shack that's barely holding itself together, what few posessions the resident has lining the walls, reminding of a more stable time. At the centre, a figure stands, a ghostly remnant of the person they once were, hoping that the future brings something more than what came before.
