Experimental Neighborhood 10 Print

Back in November 2021 I wanted to flee to the Netherlands with my husband. Instead of actually packing up and leaving, I created a series of fantastical international neighborhoods that made me laugh. This is Flugenstraffengraffen, a small city near Rotterdam. It is known for its unusual structures and upside down houses. Every single space in these houses is uber tiny, almost unliveable and none of the units come with a kitchen, yet the rent prices have skyrocketed so high that now the neighborhood is deemed 'coveted' and it's impossible to get into. Basically, humans are weird and they get caught up in the vortex of what everyone else is doing. If you lived here you'd probably have to spend most of your time outside so you could breathe. This artwork is surrounded by a 1/2" white border.
