About The Artwork
Flamethrower came to be as a result of a study on various character poses. It is inspired by the recent stream of films and games in popular culture around zombies and apocalypse scenarios. I hoped to express the realism of the thrill in using a flamethrower- ergo the posture and facial expression. Eventually, I came to appreciate the fluid shading that fires tend to have as they spurt out in a spray, as it is evident here. Photorealism requires accurate shading and lighting, which is why i love to use 3D rendering software to achieve that effect.
