The project "The Cycle of Life," a theme undoubtedly not unusual in the field of art - be it painting, literature, poetry or other expression - is quite recurrent in my production. The theme has always fascinated in that - probably - every author inevitably finds himself on the same path: from the mystery of birth to the mystery of death, the two certainties that start and end the adventure that is life. In this case, I chose to represent this path through the changes of a couple, in studio portrait style while maintaining the same setting and lighting: only the characters change their appearance, from adolescence to old age marked by the slow but inexorable aging of bodies. The coloring of the images, which occurred both when creating the textures that covered the setting and the characters created and assembled with 3D software but also in post production with Photoshop, was inspired by the work of photographer Jan Saudek - who has also often dealt with the theme of the cycle of life - while the idea of showing the bodily changes of the subjects I mainly drew on a project by photographer Pere Formiguera. The "scratches" that I inserted in post production, as well as the framing in the style of an old photographic plate, is meant to "mark" the images, a kind of aging so that the passage of time can be perceived more, a search for the emotion one feels when leafing through family albums where one can meet again our grandparents, our ancestors as if consulting a family tree.

Marco Mattiuzzi's training began when he attended a creative photography course held by Fiorenzo Rosso and Serena Leale, who oriented him towards the "artistic" photo. With techniques such as solarization, toning, tinting and various manipulations, he obtains images between painting and photography. Later he deepens the language of images during annual courses of professional photography with Bruna Orlandi, Alessandra Attianese and Pier Angelo Cavanna. He has exhibited in art galleries in both solo and group exhibitions, ZOOM has published his portfolio and his work has been reviewed in newspapers and magazines. Fiorenzo Rosso wrote about him: "The reproduction of the negative is not the final stage of the process, but the beginning, or rather the continuation of a path that will end, for the author, only after a long work of manual intervention". He has collaborated with Photographie Magazine and Disegno e Pittura, as well as newspapers with critical reviews on painters and photographers. He deals with art and communication in many forms, from music to literature, from photography to virtual reality, with writings regularly published on online cultural portals and on major social networks. For some years now he has replaced the camera and darkroom with the computer, creating virtual sets in 3D from which he obtains images for further processing and manipulation.
