ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Cheap Street Poster Art organizes a call for artists every year, the theme of 2019 was SABOTAGE, an invitation to Guerrilla Semiology sent by Umberto Eco. The posters posted on the walls of Bologna asked to “SABOTAGE with grace”, “DISOBEDIERE with generosity”, “DEMISTIFICATE with style”. My answer was three Posters, “Jessica Riot Girl” about femicide, “Greta and the Liars” for global warming and Greta Thungberg’s fight, finally “Verso i confini e oltre” on the theme of migration. The poster “Jessica Riot Girl” was selected for the Call for Artist and posted on the walls of Bologna in the spaces of Cheap on Board, exhibited in Munich at the Super+CENERCURT gallery, exhibited at the Chiù Festival where I held a Workshop for Cheap on the Call Sabotage, until arriving in Rome at Tuba Bazar where Cheap is hosted with a narrow selection of Posters. On 25 NOV 2019, on the occasion of the “World Day Against Femicide”, “Jessica Riot Girl” was used for a Paste Up organized by Cheap on the red wall of Viale Masini in Bologna.
