Haran Kumar is an award-winning Indian photographer, who has gambled with both fine art and commercial photography. It is evident from his work that he has aced all that he has worked on. His work with fine art photography has been exhibited in a number of countries like USA, Canada, South Africa, Egypt and India, to name a few. His awards and accolades are many that recognize his excellence in the art. He has worked a number of photo projects like ‘Mystery Soul’, ‘Street Life’, ‘People of India’ ‘Colors of Vrindavan, etc. His work has been exclusively printed in a number of national and international magazines, newspapers and other channels. Photography came into Haran’s life at an early age of 17 and since he has dedicated his life to photography and the passion of making pictures to tell stories with. • 2006 Awarded “The Best Photography Exhibition 2005” by the Visual Arts Gallery at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India. • 2005 Special honor received from the “Prince Claus Fund”, the Netherlands. • 2005 Awarded “Nirman Excellent Photographer of the Year” in Kolkata, India. • 2001-2003 Awarded “Silver & Bronze Medal” by “The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation” in the United Kingdom. Little Biography At the age of 11, with 20 rupees in his pocket, Haran runs away from his home and ends up at the New Delhi Railway Station. Here, because of his new life, he faces many unwanted challenges. He survives by selling bottles of water and working as a ragpicker and dishwasher at roadside food stalls. The dark side of life on the street shakes him to his core, but the excited smiles of travelers gives him hope that there is joy in this world for everyone.
