It was morning. It had been morning since late last night. I woke up late…and rough. My mouth tasted like cheap martinis, a ham sandwich, and despair. The phone was ringing. “Yeah”, that’s how us detectives answer the phone. “Flint, it’s Weasel,” it was Weasel on the other end of the line. “Yeah” “I got news Flint. They just figured out who is the best photographer in the world…some guy named DD Brown. Just thought you should know.” “OK. Thanks Weasel.” Click. I looked outside. It was foggy and dark, which was weird, considering it was a sunny day. Okay, enough noir. I am Doug Brown; born Gilman, Colorado, currently a ghost town. I now live in Hailey, Idaho, right near the famous ski resort of Sun Valley. I got here by being a ski bum, a US Forest Service IR Fire Crew boss, a program ‘doctor’ for Marketron software, and a non-ladder, non-fun, non-important functionary for a three-letter government agency with one whale of a security clearance. I am most inspired by the simplicity of Ansel Adams but I try hard not to be a copier. I do Photographic Artwork, Giclee prints.
