This is a continuation of a small series of projects I did at some UK theatres. I went to see a performance at the Royal Albert Hall and the building blew me away. After previous work with the Hackney Empire and I went about continuing this project I did there with the Royal Albert Hall. This uses some elevation drawings and floor blueprints produced for the theatre and photos of the theatre today. Many folk think this is about architecture but for me this is about ideas. It really interests me about ideas and the journey people go through to realise their ideas. When we have ideas, there are many feelings we go through to realise these ideas and the end result is never the same as what was in our minds at the beginning. This work reflects that and it too has gone through this process. The original architectural drawings have been adapted to reflect my idea and are not exactly the same as what was photographed. Please feel free to buy a large print from Saatchi Art. My images are at the lowest price option on the site and are designed to be seen large. I also sell original prints, made to the standard I want the work to be seen at. The prints I have made are on smooth art paper, of an archival quality acid-free German rag paper with a smooth finish. The 300gsm paper is bright white, ensuring accurate colour-reproduction.

I picked up my first camera in 1996 on a long trip to New Zealand. It was a cheap Yashica and took over a thousand pictures. I was hooked. Later I got my first SLR, a Pentax MZ and taught myself photography. In 2002 I studied photography at metropolitan University which changed my photography completely. I went from doing landscape photography to photographing people both in a reportage form and within the studio environment. My end of year project was on head injury using both medium and large formats. I am very interested in digital image manipulation. My first project started as a way of turning people in to superheroes of their own design. The project was called BASH, Be A SuperHero. This turned in to what is on the site as reflections. Later I started project I called the Dynamic Zoo. Influenced by someone’s drawing art I saw being sold by one of the cars at a boot sale I took some of my normal landscape and graffiti picture from around the world and added some graffiti like colour to the pictures. I have done some work combining early elevations and images of theatres with photos of them at this time which was an expression of the journey an artist takes from the idea to the final output.
