About The Artwork
"Synthetic Erosion" is the product of a profound connection I felt with the solitude of Death Valley. This piece is a contemplation on the subtle yet significant imprints that human advancement leaves upon the natural world. Melding a three-day photographic journey with the capabilities of AI, I've used technology as a collaborative partner to accentuate, rather than overpower, the voice of this desolate landscape. I've crafted this piece as a 9-color giclee print on archival paper to ensure longevity and vibrance. The piece, including a 2" border for framing, measures 24" x 36", with the artwork itself occupying a 20" x 32" space. In crafting "Synthetic Erosion", I wrote a custom Java application using Processing, a flexible software sketchbook and language for producing generative art, allowing me to intricately manipulate the color data for each segment of the piece. The artwork will arrive as a carefully packaged print, with dimensions tailored to preserve the integrity of the image and ease of framing.
