ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The strength of unity and solidarity in a hostile and threatening world On a full moon night... "United in the Shadow" is a series of images that strikes with its strong emotional charge and evocative power. The depicted scenes show two young people seen from behind, as if they were only shadows, entering a dark and foggy swamp on a full moon night, sometimes hand in hand. The images convey a sense of fear and imminent danger, but at the same time, hope and solidarity between the two protagonists. The full moon in the background and the reflection of the water on the swamp add a touch of mystery and fascination to the scene. The graphics are very detailed, with particular attention to details such as the protagonists' torn clothes and the muddy surface of the swamp. The nuances and contrast of black shades create a gloomy and unsettling atmosphere, but at the same time captivating and engaging. The images of "United in the Shadow" aim to convey emotions and sensations to the audience, effectively representing the strength of unity and solidarity in a hostile and threatening world.

Marco Mattiuzzi's training began when he attended a creative photography course held by Fiorenzo Rosso and Serena Leale, who oriented him towards the "artistic" photo. With techniques such as solarization, toning, tinting and various manipulations, he obtains images between painting and photography. Later he deepens the language of images during annual courses of professional photography with Bruna Orlandi, Alessandra Attianese and Pier Angelo Cavanna. He has exhibited in art galleries in both solo and group exhibitions, ZOOM has published his portfolio and his work has been reviewed in newspapers and magazines. Fiorenzo Rosso wrote about him: "The reproduction of the negative is not the final stage of the process, but the beginning, or rather the continuation of a path that will end, for the author, only after a long work of manual intervention". He has collaborated with Photographie Magazine and Disegno e Pittura, as well as newspapers with critical reviews on painters and photographers. He deals with art and communication in many forms, from music to literature, from photography to virtual reality, with writings regularly published on online cultural portals and on major social networks. For some years now he has replaced the camera and darkroom with the computer, creating virtual sets in 3D from which he obtains images for further processing and manipulation.
