The compelling piece titled 'Vinny | Nightmares' delves into the complex interplay between beauty and the subconscious. It portrays a person, Vinny, in profile, their expression one of introspective stillness, as though they are confronting an unseen turmoil within. A striking headdress of vivid red, reminiscent of both ornate lace and organic matter, crowns their head and cascades down, bleeding into the space around them—a visual metaphor for the way nightmares can invade and color our waking thoughts. The tattoos that envelop their skin are like the whispered tales of a dreamer, intricate and flowing, suggesting a deep well of stories etched in memory. The deep blue backdrop acts as the night itself, against which the figure seems to be both emerging from and sinking into. In 'Vinny | Nightmares', there is a haunting beauty that challenges the viewer to look beyond the surface and explore the depths of emotion and experience that define us.

As a multidisciplinary artist, I derive inspiration from my empathy for humanity and an insatiable desire to explore the world's beauty and cultural complexity. I was born in 1963 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State, where I took classes ranging from abnormal psychology to existentialism in order to broaden my creative mind. My extensive travels have enriched my perspective and significantly influenced my work. With my husband, Jeff, I have designed and built Tanglewild Gardens, a renowned botanical garden that doubles as our home and sanctuary in Austin, Texas. My career has spanned various fields including fine art, design, publishing, fashion, and technology, where I have had the privilege of leading global creative teams. My artwork, which has received international recognition, has been featured in prestigious publications and exhibitions and is collected by individuals worldwide. My art is a deeply personal and evocative blend of traditional and digital methods, incorporating AI as a collaborative tool. It delves into themes such as cultural diversity, injustice, and surrealism. As a gay man who has faced discrimination and lost many friends to AIDS, my work is imbued with profound empathy and a universally powerful impact. This combination of human emotion and innovative technique makes my art uniquely resonant. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work with a global audience and to be part of such a diverse and impressive group of artists. If you find my work inspiring, I would be honored if you chose to follow me and stay updated on my latest projects. Thank you so much for taking the time to explore my creations.
