ABOUT THE ARTWORK
One of my favourite things to do is taking long walks in the forests. Whilst most love and appreciate the trees I look out for the things that are hidden and really hard to see. Often there are secret insects, shy mushrooms but the best prize of all is the flowers that grow hidden away. They always so calm and gentle, happy growing without being disturbed by strong winds or blistering sunshine. Very peaceful, I like that.

Living in the worlds most diverse flowering plant kingdom has influenced my work completely. I spend a great deal of my time wandering the mountains and valleys of the Western Cape collecting the most incredible flowers. In my studio I'll break the flowers down into their graphic shapes and then reassemble the components into wonderfully vibrant flower designs. Everyone of the designs is very carefully considered when it comes to shapes and colour making sure that each piece of work can make a striking statement on it's own or work together as a group.
