A first-time viewer of my work will quickly notice it’s an erratic collection of absurd, kinetic, violent, erotic, surreal and satirical imagery. My creations are unbridled pursuits, raw ideas, flights of fancy, dives into darkness and returns to luminous thought. The complex and infinite variety of people’s emotional faces stir an endless desire to capture the natural world and then twist it into new forms. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention there are eyeballs everywhere.  I have to admit there’s a side of me that revels in shocking people. My prolific daily practice often includes sketching grotesque and disturbing body horror. Heads split open to reveal other faces, limbs and eyeballs coming out. I think of them as metaphysical, metaphorical explorations of our dark inner shadow, as well as our more humorous, cartoony natures. The defining characteristics of my aesthetic pulls from the strong graphic ink lines found in comic books and manga. My color pulls from that same aesthetic. The vibrant colors of my murals can be seen from blocks away. People always ask me what my art means and I always hesitate to answer for fear of stripping away the mystery. That being said, there’s no shortage of interpretations by viewers that I enjoy hearing. Ultimately I want people to be amazed, disturbed and shocked into feeling something, and to experience the same excitement and inspiration viewing my work as I feel when dreaming it all up. It can be wild like an acid trip or sublime like clouds scattered across the horizon as the sun goes down. Simply put, I just want to make art that’s fun as hell to stare at. My art grabs the eyes of people passing by and then my art stares back.
