Art Description

Drawing: Ballpoint Pen on Paper.

Drawing: fineliner pen on card

One in a series of drawings inspired by the sculptures of French artist Alain Lambert. I was really drawn to these huge solid heads that seemed to hold the whole of history. They seemed a place where you could put human love without having to love a human. There's something about their decapitated state that highlights how as humans we've become involved in their destruction, so there's a huge sadness about them too. When I look at them they seem indistinguishable, sometimes animal, sometimes human so that their destruction illustrates how we're destroying ourselves too.
