ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Daily life scene in a city. I've been fascinated by the bright sunlight and deep long shadows it created. Although, there's movement in the picture, it feels kind of frozen. This artwork was created in the times of covid restrictions and this is how it felt. That life somehow stopped and kept silent...

My way to fine art was a long and curvy one and is still unfolding. Art for me is first and foremost a very important part of a life-long exploration and search for inner supporting pillars. It took me about 20 years of adult life to allow myself to dive into the world of art fully and unapologetically, having a background in management and design. I am most interested in fleeting moments of beauty found in everyday scenes and floral arrangements. Life and love are felt, stingingly, in these little pauses we make to really take a moment and see and feel what´s around us. And this is what I aim to capture in my pastel artworks. I let my artworks unfold themselves on paper, rather than pushing them towards a certain vision. This process-based approach allows me experiment with techniques and color-choices a lot and teaches lessons about acceptance and flexibility in life.
