Colored pencils can accomplish any kind of image you want to make, whether it’s a portrait or a luminescent landscape. Both blend able and layer able, the key to a detailed colored pencil drawing is to keep developing the piece, until is shows texture, shading, and dimension. The effects that can be achieved are limitless. A work in pencil can be a drawing, a watercolor, or an oil painting. A wax pencil can sketch, can draw, can paint. A watercolor pencil can do the same. The drawing can be transparent as a loose wash or as dense as an oil on canvas. The natural cotton fibers used for Arches paper give paper elegance and strength, with the subtleties of the grain giving the paper both touch and bulk.
