Eglė Kurlavičienė does not push herself into the framework of a specific technique and constantly experiments in the fields of glass and painting. Eglė studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis National School of Arts in Vilnius. He acquired the specialty of stained glass in Vilnius Academy of Arts in bachelor's and master's studies. Participates in symposia, plein airs, group exhibitions. She is distinguished by her searches both in the genre of portraits and in landscapes, as well as in abstractions and figurative compositions. In his paintings and drawings, the author sometimes reveals himself through awkward, unadorned themes arising from subjective experiences, fear of dreams, intuitions, social and cultural environment. The artist does not shy away from self-reflection, using the genre of self-portrait,is not afraid to portray herself as vulnerable, somewhat ironically. Her paintings are expressions of modern life expressed in expressive strokes, sometimes wrapped in a phantasmagoric image, where relevant topics of a woman's body, beauty, selfie cult and other themes are touched upon. In painting, she is characterized by emotionality, certainty and openness, and the desire to move the deepest feelings of the viewer. From more complex themes, the author sometimes moves to slightly lighter images of nostalgic landscapes or hometowns. Meanwhile, in the works of glass, this artist is quite different: the stained glass is dominated by harmony, motifs characteristic of Lithuanian folk art, ornamentation, accompanied by symmetry, texts written in the Aukštaitian dialect.Eglės creation shows how different it can be,how the technique determines the specifics of the themes she chooses, the artistic expression. In glass works, she seeks aesthetics, balance, is subtly restrained, as nostalgic, while in painting – expressive, open. Despite the differences, one of itsmost striking features in the whole creative line is immediate sincerity. Miglė Morkūnaite – Vervečkienė Art Critic
