Bird Man Print

I draw what comes to hand or comes to mind. Mixing collage with drawing operates on the same principle. I'm following what's available and what appeals to my eye. I don't think I'd been reading Ovid or watching a Burt Lancaster movie when I thought of this one; it just materialized. I often draw pages of bodies in various poses and costumes and combine them with heads drawn the same way. The result is sort of like the flip-books where you were able to match and mismatch heads and bodies. Simultaneously funny, and alarming, and perplexing. Visual Mad-Libs. I had this library file card from a book bought at a library sale and thought it worked as a backdrop. If I had bought an elephant folio Audubon at a library sale I might have used that card instead. Is this the birdwatcher who has become what he watches or has a bird evolved into a college professor? I like it because it is funny and dignified at the same time, and entirely meaningless.
