About The Artwork
A portrait study I did using mauve color pencils and to top it with bold strokes of charcoal and black chalk. This was one of those works where you start with no specific idea in the head and let it flow, until you see the drawing coming to a form. The eyes are made bold and intense as it felt like she's a warrior who's lived through some experiences and has a story to tell. I hope when looking at this drawing, the viewer too feels the intensity of her stare and finds some grit and perseverance radiating from her.
