About The Artwork

A hand-drawn reproduction of Cain Killing Abel, a 1511 woodcut by Albrecht Durer, this illustration corrects for damage (i.e. fading) and dramatically increases the size of the image (the woodcut is 4.63in x 3.25 in). Identical to the original image, this illustration is distinguished by a slightly heavier line weight, which creates a darker lighting effect and grants the scene a more serious tone that the woodcut. The original woodcut resides in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Drawn on acid-free, medium weight (80 lb), medium surface, natural white paper. It is recommended that this illustration be framed and matted.
