What/who inspired the work? The work was inspired by my own cats, who are always getting into trouble. I wanted to capture the playful and mischievous side of their personalities. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? I hope that viewers will feel a sense of joy and amusement when they see the work. I also hope that they will think about the relationship between cats and humans, and how we can learn from their playful nature. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose to use acrylic paint because it is a versatile medium that allows me to create a variety of textures and effects. I chose to paint cats because they are one of my favorite subjects. I chose to use a loose, gestural style because I wanted to capture the energy and movement of the cats.
