ABOUT THE ARTWORK
During my period as a 911 operator, I'd heard enough tragedy, and it always gutted me that someone's last moments were being utterly terrified. I wanted the grim reaper in my work to not be something to be afraid of with typical black cloak and scythe representing your doom. I wanted something softer and kinder who was there to bring comfort and to take you home. I don't know if there's something at the end, but I hope that there's more than those last moments of fear. I chose a toned gray paper to add some warmth beneath the black and white charcoal and gold ink to tie the angel to the soul.
