ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I went to an agricultural high school, and while I was a city kid who wanted an alternative to urban education, several of my classmates lived on family farms. In the 80's the plight of small family farms in America was in the news and I asked one of my former classmates who had studied in Iowa if she could introduce me to the farm family she had stayed with. I traveled to Iowa and made a series of images documenting farm auctions.
