ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This portrait is one of a new series of drawings inspired by a long-standing love of fashion magazines that began in the 90s. Fashion editorials represent the cool, the superficial, the throwaway culture of the time but they also capture a moment, a feeling and a sense of hope and excitement. This drawing reflects my passion for consumer culture and the transient immortalised in print. I enjoy the process of recreating something originally intended to be short lived painstakingly in pencil, making it permanent and archival. Drawn in pencil onto a high quality 180gsm high quality cartridge paper
