ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Framed graphite drawing on paper. Dimensions include the mount and frame. Flock of Cranes was inspired by the detail and atmosphere of a construction site. The smoke and smog created an aura of hard work and progress. I have always found graphite an enjoyable medium to work with and it is my preferred material. It's versatile, which makes it perfect for drawings like this as I am able to create the smoke with loose graphite powder and also create fine detail with the pencils.

Like many artists, I’ve loved creating since I was little. I remember days filled with craft packs and cheap drawing pencils, glitter getting all over the ceiling and generally creating as much artistic mess as I could. My collection of art equipment became more selective and sophisticated as I matured and I put away some of the glitter and craft paper and replaced it with graphite, watercolour, pastels and charcoal. I love it. There’s no stopping the joy I get from drawing or creating. I love experimenting with creativity and adore seeing how far I can push each material. I’d far from say I’m a pro, just that I love creating.
