About The Artwork
Ghost White Moon is a digital drawing together with a distorted photograph background. The piece was created using PhotoShop, a Wacom Tablet, and a hand drawn sketch that I used as my visual guide. The cactus type is found near where I live, as are frequently skulls and other bones like this tiny bat skull. I love animal bones - especially the beautiful skulls that I find. I love the color, the texture, and the idea that these bones, like ours, define and protect the shape of the animal it belonged to. Ghost White moon tries to capture the feeling of the location in which the bat lived - desert like and serene.

I am an artist and graphic designer living and working in western Colorado. I hold three Bachelors of arts degrees, and I actually make use of each of them even though they are somewhat varied. I went back to school to study Fine Art (printmaking), and fell in love with learning, so I went on to get degrees in Advertising/Design and Anthropology. My primary mediums are drawing (usually sanguine and black - sometimes small spots of color) and printmaking (mezzotint and engraving). In the last 3 years, I discovered digital drawings and paintings, and this endeavor has opened new and exciting doors for me, and I have created a lot of art with this “new” media. Aside from my art, I enjoy the outdoors, music, fashion fitness and my family.
