Yury Peshkov was born in Leningrad in 1963. He grew up in an artistic environment and graduated from art school in Zviezdny City in 1980. In his youth, his favourite pastime was to make sketches in the open air with pencil and charcoal, drawing on every piece of paper. In 1994 he moved to Cyprus. Nowadays he known as the true master of the “Dry brush” technique, expertly wielding a black-and-white palette to create truly captivating artworks. His diverse portfolio comprises landscapes, fragmentary still lives, and everyday scenes that radiate a unique charm through their monochromatic beauty. During pandemic he start a series of artworks called “Bringing Cyprus to you…” which is never-ending story about beauty of the island. With a keen eye for detail, he uncovers the elegance in simplicity, finding beauty in everyday things. His works are more than art pieces, but rather a whole journey into the realm of simple joys and enduring values as seen through the lens of art.
