During the Black Death in Europe, a physicist named Issac Newton enunciated several fundamental principles of classical physics while protecting himself from the plague on his family's estate in the English countryside. Legend has it that it was by observing a falling apple that Newton arrived at his law of universal gravitation. Using this law, we can explain why the planets attract each other or why an apple is attracted to the earth's surface. Another practical application is the launching of rockets. This illustration was one of the first made to illustrate the book "From Balloons to Cathode Rays," published in 2021. The technique used was watercolor on paper. The strokes of the drawing are straightforward since the main idea here is to explore the concept of gravity.
