The peace symbol is a widely recognized sign that represents the idea of peace and nonviolence. There are different versions of the peace symbol, such as the dove and the olive branch, the V sign, and the circular logo with a vertical line and two downward lines. The dove and the olive branch are ancient Symbols of peace that date back to the 5th century BC in Greece. They were associated with Eirene, the goddess of peace, and later with Pax, the Roman equivalent. The circular logo with a vertical line and two downward lines is the most common peace Symbol today. It was designed by Gerald Holtom in 1958 for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. It represents the semaphore signals for the letters N and D, which stand for nuclear disarmament. It also Symbolizes despair and hope, as the human figure with arms outstretched in the logo is reminiscent of a painting by Goya.

I've had a creative impulse from a young age. My art is a means of self expression and to create images that I can revisit and enjoy. Inspiration is not something I can quantify. My artwork recreates a mood or a feeling, I also like making purely decorative images. Hopefully other's enjoy my artwork.
