Konrád Biró (b. 1967, Miskolc, Hungary) is a Hungarian painter whose artistic path was shaped from an early age. He was introduced to drawing and painting in childhood by his father, who was also an artist, establishing a lifelong connection to visual expression. While Biró works confidently across various techniques and media, painting remains the central and most defining focus of his artistic practice today. Rooted in strong classical drawing skills and traditional disciplines, his work moves freely between abstraction and realism. Faces, figures and fragments of the visible world appear in his paintings not as literal representations, but as emotional and psychological presences. Gesture, texture and light play a central role, allowing intuition and painterly freedom to guide the image toward its final form. His recurring themes include the inner landscapes of the human soul, feminine presence, memory, and the tension between control and spontaneity. In recent years, his work has increasingly turned toward restrained palettes and monochromatic compositions, reflecting a personal synthesis of expressive realism and abstract-surreal sensibility. With more than three decades of artistic practice and over a thousand artworks placed in private collections worldwide, Biró’s paintings invite viewers into an intimate dialogue—where emotion, experience and the act of painting itself become inseparable.
