Concluded his athletic career at age 17 during a period of significant personal change. Spent six years fighting alongside his daughter against this "killer of children," an experience that fundamentally dismantled and rebuilt his worldview. This period resulted in a "completely different view of the world" and a new perspective on the people within it.
