I would like to create artworks that I hope can be felt beyond time and space. I believe people need humor and fantasy in life, so I tell simple stories using only a few elements— not to be minimalist, but to leave space for imagination. If my work brings something good to someone’s heart, I would be happy. Contemporary Japonism — Artist Statement My practice is guided by Contemporary Japonism— a way of seeing born from a quiet moment of inspiration, gently reinterpreting Japanese sensibilities within the present time. Through light, silence, and restrained space, I create small places where viewers can pause and quietly return inward. Across different forms, my work remains rooted in this same intention: to offer softly illuminated spaces for calm awareness in an accelerated world. My correct name represents 松田素子 in Kanji.
