Karl Tattyrek, 1150 Vienna born 1956 in Vienna. From an early age, my artistic inclination was awakened and encouraged by my father's painting Walter Tattyrek. I was trained in color theory and mixed techniques in the time of a four-year vocational training as a repro - photographer and lithographer (Repro- photographers and lithographers). In 1993 I passed the master's examination in graphic arts. Ongoing courses at the Artistic Folk High School followed, both in acrylic -, oil -, watercolor technique. I also enjoyed two workshops in "Bob Ross" techniques. Until the 80s., I was mainly interested in watercolor techniques and Kar(l)i/Katuren with pencil and ink. In the nineties, I shifted to oil painting and then later to acrylic techniques. My curiosity let me try the most diverse styles. The representations span from expressionist, abstract, to surrealistic motifs. Self-penned lyrics try to create a symbiosis with the images. The whole work includes about ninety pictures. Currently, there are about 48 paintings in the various techniques, in the formats of 30 x 40 cm - 40 x 50 cm 70 x 100 cm. My first vernissage took place in September 1999, for the 30th anniversary of the printing house Edelbacher 1180 Vienna. This was the first time I introduced myself to a big audience. The exhibition was seen by about 400 visitors over two days. The response and sales were so encouraging that many more exhibitions followed in Vienna and also in Austria. My specialty was to describe my thoughts about the paintings with poems. The artworks became more and more abstract, and poems lusher. Until one day, I gave up painting in favor of writing. From the 2010s my interest shifted towards theater acting and standup comedy. Currently, I am the "Oldest Young Cabaret Artist of Austria" having, previously become the "Oldest Young Entrepreneur of Austria with 49 years. My business in Vienna since 2004 is the XL Druckerei alles fahnen! Specialist for flags, scenery, - art print on fabrics. This can be combined very well with my artistic ambitions. My great passion is the interpretation of the Viennese dialect in word and song, which I cultivate with regular performances and with my dialect poems in prose and rhyme. It is often funny, but the Viennese world and heartbreak may not be missing.
