Olena Kovyrzina is Toronto based Ukrainian artist. Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, Olena graduated from Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative Applied Arts and Design (КХПТ) in 1999 and has an extensive career in Canada as graphic designer and art director. Growing up in Ukraine, she was always inspired by Ukrainian traditional art and ancestral link with nature. Olena draws her inspiration from fleeting nature of changing seasons as well as rediscovery of her Ukrainian heritage, traditions and identity. Currently she’s focusing on artistic expression though life studies by employing line drawing with layered materials.
