I am a realist artist who works primarily in oil and dry medium on canvas or panel. My training is in classical approaches specifically in life drawing. I like to explore personal moments of quiet introspection that I see as universal and critical to human growth and development. Many times these images are figurative, as I believe that the depiction of the human person is the best vehicle for communicating complex emotion to the viewer. I believe it is the moments in life where we intersect with one another on a personal level that lead us a greater understanding of who we are and by extension give us insight into our place in the world. I view art as a unique tool in the pursuit of communication and understanding that crosses boundaries and cultures. I believe that art, which encourages communion, is art in its truest and most noble form.
